Magnificent Jaipur!

Jaipur, also known as the Pink City stands proof of India's rich heritage and culture. It is existing proof of India's wealth and majesty. Jaipur is perfect for a short weekend trip, where one can relish the picturesque forts and markets which adorn Jaipur. The Pink City has innumerable spots where one can sit at hours, admiring the architecture and the mere beauty of the establishments that have now become the pride of Jaipur. Jaipur is named after King Sawai Jai Singh II and one of the main attractions of the city is Nahargarh Fort, which was the residence of the King.

The fort stands tall on the Aravalli Hills, overlooking the Pink City. The spectacular view from the fort of the city is what makes this place a bustling hub of touristy. The fort also has a Bawdi , a step well which is famous for making a great shooting location for movies.

This is the same Bawdi Amir Khan and his co-stars in Rang De Basani had jumped from, the iconic scene is etched in every moviegoer's heart and this is one of main reasons for this step well being so famous.

Another fort that I personally find the most beautiful fort of Jaipur is Amer Fort, situated in Amer which is 11 kms from Jaipur City.

Amer Fort

This is the most striking forts of all because it has everything delightful in one place. You could spend a whole day just sitting in awe of this man made miracle. The fort overlooks Maota lake which is surrounded by ruins of the planned city that existed during the rule of the Rajput Maharajas. A huge, larger than life gateway welcomes the tourists into the fort which is know was the Ganesh Pol entrance. The entrance gate is embellished with a thousand gem stones in all hues and colors.

The Sheesh Mahal, located inside the Amer Fort complex is where one can witness the intricate glasswork which adorns the walls of a small fort like structure. The Sheesh Mahal remains the pride of Amer Fort.

There are little souvenir shops inside, where one can take back home the sheer memory of being in a place as affluent as Amer Fort. There is also a temple dedicated to Sila Devi where one can seek the blessings of the Goddess.

All in all, if planning a trip to Jaipur, nobody, especially an adventure lover or an architecture enthusiast, should miss going to these places and getting lost in the pure opulence of Jaipur.
